I'm Elise. Ruby is my sister, and we have been borrowing each other's clothes since we were old enough to reach the same shelf. Not much has changed, except now we do it professionally.

Everything in this shop has to pass the same test before it goes up: would we wear it on a Tuesday? Not to a wedding, not for a photo — on an ordinary Tuesday, doing ordinary things. That rules out a lot. It rules out the dress that only works standing still, the fabric that looks right on a screen and goes shapeless after two washes, the jacket you have to keep adjusting.

What is left is the good stuff. Fabric that moves. Shapes that are easy without being shapeless. Colours you will still like next year.

Sizes that go where they should

Most of what we carry runs to 3XL, and plenty of it goes all the way to 5XL — roughly an Australian 22 to 24. That is not a separate section with three sad options in it. It is the same dress, the same blouse, the same knit, cut properly across the whole range.

We did that because between the two of us we have spent enough years finding something we loved and then finding out where the sizing stopped. It is a small thing to fix and almost nobody bothers.

How we actually work

We are a small operation, which has upsides and one downside. The upside is that when you email, a person who knows the stock reads it and answers — within 24 hours, every day of the week. Nobody is copying and pasting at you.

The downside is that we cannot be everywhere. So we put the effort into the things that matter: shipping free and tracked anywhere in Australia, 30 days to change your mind, and being straight with you about fit before you order rather than after.

If you are not sure whether something will work, ask us. We would rather talk you out of the wrong piece than take the return.
